I have a tendency to jump the gun, count the chickens before they hatch, cross the bridge before it’s made, and whatever other analogy you can think of.
By doing this, I get super excited about something, go head first, and then burn out without making a proper plan that will allow me to meet goals and set me up for success.
I think I did that with this blog and with my “zero-waste” goals.
I’m not the only one to have done this…right guys?
Anyways, I’ve realized after several months of not writing consistently that one of the reasons I’ve been avoiding it was because of that experiment I had a few months ago. The one where I had collected all my plastic for the month and then I was going to count and see how much I had used.
Well, I let it sit. and sit. and sit some more because I was too discouraged to deal with my waste.
I felt that it was a huge amount and was discouraged by my lack of environmentalism.
This year I want it to be different. A whole new me. A whole new try.
So, I’m continuing to work on my earth conscious living and I need to just remember that environmentalism is a process.
I just got some reusable cotton bags for bulk shopping and this small effort will make a huge difference in the long-run.
As I continue to move forward, I hope that you do as well. Don’t be discouraged by past choices or past living. Move forward with a new day and new effort.
Cheers to 2017!
